Why is this coil only for breaker point ignitions?
ANSWER: A breaker point ignition has different requirements than an electronic trigger distributor, or amplified ignition. The primary resistance of this coil is manufactured specifically for breaker point ignition systems.
What if I plan on updating to electronic ignition or an amplifier in the future?
ANSWER: If you have the desire or plans to upgrade in the future, get a coil matched more specifically to your future needs. The Mallory #
MAL-29440M, coil is good for both breaker point and electronic (including amplified) ignition systems.
