FEATURES:

The Mallory Power Cell was designed to improve the performance of original equipment electronic ignition systems under normal driving conditions. Stock coil output tends to drop sharply over 5,500 RPM. The Power Cell helps maintain stock coil output up to 6,500 RPM.
Fits all non-computer type original equipment Delco HEI, Ford Duraspark, and Chrysler/Mopar Performance electronic ignition systems.
Used to protect ignition modules from destructive power spikes. Installation of this unit is NOT A GUARANTEE to stop spikes from reaching your module..

NOTES:

The Power Cell is merely a capacitor, or energy storage unit. Reading the features above, for coil stability the Power Cell holds energy in reserve to help the coil do it's job more efficiently. For module protection the Power Cell has the ability to absorb power spikes (please continue to read below).
At Century Performance Center we no longer recommend use of this item. There are better components available (please continue to read below).
For improved RPM capability it is best to do this the "right" way. A coil can only do what it is told to do and the Power Cell in our opinion is merely a band-aid. If your coil is having problems, get a better coil ... there is NO substitute. If your ignition is not keeping up with engine power output you need to purchase and install a good ignition amplifier such as the Mallory Hyfire® in conjunction with a compatible ignition coil.
If your intention is for module protection there is one big problem with the Power Cell. The Power Cell is not installed in series to the module, it is wired in parallel. That is like having two freeway choices to get to the same location, with road blocks and one without. If the power spike decides to go up the unprotected path it will still hit your module. If you want protection that is in series to your module, you want the Mallory Circuit Guard (part #29371). Still not a guarantee, but the #29371 Circuit Guard is much better choice and offers more features, and easier installation.
The ONLY guarantee to spike protection is to find and fix the cause of the spikes. That is your only protection guarantee.
