Anyone using an antiquated breaker point distributor should consider upgrading to an electronic ignition. Converting your breaker point distributor to electronic is good whether you have an automotive or marine application. It is considerably better than any breaker point system, single or dual point.
NOTE: You CAN now convert a Mallory V8 breaker point Vacuum Advance distributor to electronic. If you have a Mallory vacuum advance distributor for a V8 engine application you no longer need to purchase a new complete distributor.
The short list of benefits from upgrading to electronic ignition includes:

 The conversion kits we offer are the Unilite® or E-Spark (same as a Unilite® other than considerably less expensive). Actually, we are no longer offering the Unilite® kits because the E-Spark is virtually identical and saves our customers quite a bit of money. For some reason, instead of Mallory just calling it the "new and improved Unilite® module", they had to give this unit it's own name and part number.
You can convert your existing Mallory Breaker Point Distributor and some OEM Ford, Chrysler, and GM distributors to the Mallory electronics. There are certain versions that you cannot convert, such as Mallory vacuum advance versions as mentioned above. Below we will give you the applications and kit part numbers, including the Unilite® kits, but anyone that orders the Unilite® kit will automatically receive the lower-priced E-Spark kit.
