Distributor Parts

    Mallory distributors are organized (in most cases) by a specific series number. For automotive applications this is the first two digits of the part number that is listed on the metal tag or sticker on the outer bowl of your distributor. So, a Mallory part #3748201 Unilite® Distributor for Chevy V8 engines is actually a 37-series distributor.

    If you have a Mallory Marine distributor, all of the older distributors (up through 2005, and ?) have the "YL" prefix, no matter the engine. If you happen to have one of the new "9-xxxxxx" Mallory Marine Distributors, just base your search upon the trigger style of the distributor (i.e. Breaker Point, Unilite® Electronic, or Magnetic Breakerless Electronic). The "9-" numbering is just a new way for Mallory Marine to have specific numbers for Marine-only dealers.

   Replacement parts for early (what we like to call prehistoric) versions of Mallory distributors are listed at the bottom of this page. These include the "YC", "ZC", "Rev Pol", "Double Life", "10", "11", "12", "13", "14", "15", "16", "17", "IR", and YCP series distributors.

Service Parts for Obsolete Mallory Distributors

    This section is for replacement parts for Mallory "YC", "ZC", "Rev Pol", "Double Life", "10", "11", "12", "13", "14", "15", "16", "17", "IR", and YCP series distributors.

    One of the easiest ways to tell if you have one of these units is by the 2-piece cap. The plug wires do not use a boot at the cap and just slide into the cap sockets and onto a brass spike at the base of the socket. You will only be able to use 7mm wires on these old distributors. Below is a chart showing what is available, and at the bottom of this page is the point settings for these units. Click on the item link for details, pricing, and ordering.
