SANDERSON HEADERS

This item is a PAIR of straight collector reducers. The reducers are available in 2½", 3", and 3½" versions. Select the size you need by using the image below. Angle reducers are available by ordering SDH-RED-A

NOTE: The reducer size is based upon the COLLECTOR DIAMETER. The reduction in size goes from there. A 2½" reducer will compensate tubing size to as small as 2"; a 3" reducer will go to about 2¼"; and the 3½" reducer will go down to 2½".

What it is and what it does:

The Collector Reducer is bolted to the header on the flanged end, and the opposite end is welded to the under chassis exhaust system on the vehicle. The ANGLE reducers are for applications that need extreme angles due to limited available clearances to connect the exhaust system.

A collector reducer server one or two purposes:

It reduces the connection size from the header collector to the exhaust tubing. For example: You have a 3" collector on your header, but your exhaust system tubing is 2½" diamater.
You do not have access to a muffler shop or tubing bender that can create a one-piece head pipe assembly for your vehicle.

NOTE: As you read above, you do not always need reducers. Having your muffler shop fabricate a one-piece head pipe on their bending equipment provides a cleaner installation.
