This gear is reverse cut for opposite rotation applications

Why would I need this distributor gear?

ANSWER: This gear is required when you have an application where the engine is reverse rotation, OR the combination of components (timing drive gears or chain, reverse ground camshaft, etc) requires a drive gear that is the opposite tooth angle. Your distributor is still turning the same direction, meaning this does not affect the rotation of the shaft, weights, springs, or firing order.
