We receive questions every once in a while regarding old Mallory Tachometer and Gauge wiring.

The older Mallory Tachometers had five (5) wires coming out of them. Below are the colors and connections:



  • BLACK = Ground
  • BROWN (or GREEN) = Ground
  • WHITE = Coil Negative (or Tach Output connector on amplifier box)
  • RED - 12-Volt Power Supply
  • ORANGE = Dash Light Circuit
